Top 5 Most Anticipated New Releases

Hello guys, how you doin’?

So today I came here to share with you my current 5 most anticipated YA new releases. This list will include books from both 2018 and 2019. I’ll probably have more in the near future, but from those that were announced so far, these are the ones I’m most excited to get my hands on and to read them like there’s no tomorrow.

Here they are:

1. The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2) by Holly Black

Release date: January 8th, 2019

The Cruel Prince was super hyped when it came out earlier this year, and fortunately I was one of the people who loved it. At first I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but I found all the scheming and backstabbing VERY entertaining. I must say, The Wicked King is probably the new release I’m most anxious about, and I’m not saying I’d exchange a kidney for an ARC of this book, but you know, I have very good kidneys. Just saying.

2.  Wildcard (Warcross, #2) by Marie Lu

Release date: September 18th, 2018

Wildcard by Marie Lu cover

Warcross was one of my favorite releases of 2017, and I cannot wait to get my hands on this bad boy asap. I loved the setting, the game, the representation, and I want more. I’m dying to see what happens to rainbow-haired Emika & cia after that ending, and I. Just. Want. This. Book. So. Much. Ahhhhh.

3. Slayer (Slayer, #1) by Kiersten White

Release date: January 8th, 2019

Slayer by Kiersten White cover

I mean, a book set in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer world written by Kiersten White? Count me the hell in! Especially now that I’ve just finished reading And I Darken. After seeing the way Kiersten handled a wild female protagonist like Lada, I cannot wait to see how she’s going to deal with a Slayer. Well, another slayer. Lada doesn’t need supernatural monsters in her world to fit that title well.

4.  Um Milhão de Finais Felizes by Vítor Martins

Release date: July 5th, 2018

Um Milhão De Finais Felizes capa

This is a brazilian release actually, but I had to put it here. It’s from the same author of Quinze Dias (a book about a fat gay boy who has a crush on his neighbour. It has Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda level of cuteness, humor, and relatability). Now what is this book about? Not exactly sure, since I don’t usually read synopsis. The title means “a million happily ever afters“, but Vítor nicknamed it “gay pirates” before it had the actual title. Honestly, gay pirates, need I say more?

5. King of Scars (Nikolai Duology, #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Release date: January 29th, 2019

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo cover

Look, if you’ve read the Grisha Triology (I’ll always call it that no matter how many times they change the name) and liked it, you probably want to read this. Even if you didn’t read it, you might have heard of Nikolai. I had, before I even started the series. To my fortune, when I met him in Siege and Storm I was not disappointed. Nikolai is resourceful, snarky, interesting, and fan favorite – no wonder he’s getting his own duology. You can bet I’ll be there anxiously waiting to read about his adventures next year.

This is it for my most anticipated releases, what are yours? Let me know in the comments. 😀
