August TBR

Hey, how you doin’ guys?

Today I’m here to tell you what books I need to read in August. I never do TBRs because I’m one of those infamous “mood readers“, so I hardly ever follow my plans anyways. But this time I decided to give it a go, because I have some ARCs to get to as soon as possible so there’s a bigger chance I’ll stick to this list after all. Here are the books I need to finish this month:

hp philosophers-stone-cover1. Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone (Harry Potter #1) by J.K. Rowling

I’m reading the UK one so no Sorcerer’s Stone here. After years without rereading any of the books of the series that made me a reader, I finally decided to dive into this amazing universe again. With the Fantastic Beasts movies bringing a lot of new information to the wizarding world (despite all the controversies), I decided it was time to revisit Harry’s adventures.

the hazel wood cover2. The Hazel Wood (The Hazel Wood #1) by Melissa Albert

I’ve been reading this book for months now. It’s not that it’s bad, it has some interesting and dark fairytales, but I’ve been back and forth with the story. Regardless, it’s time I finish this at last.

furyborn cover3. Furyborn (Empirium #1) by Claire Legrand

I got an ARC of this in March or April. The book came out in May and I still haven’t read it because I suck. I actually read the first few pages and I was enjoying it, but it’s a huge ass book so I need to fully commit.

Shadow of the Fox cover4. Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox #1) by Julie Kagawa

Another ARC I got recently. I don’t want to repeat the Furyborn situation, so I need to read this before its release in October 2. The book has Japanese mithology if I remember correctly, and I’m all in for that. I’ve recently read and reviewed one of Julie Kagawa’s books, The Iron King, which I enjoyed, so I hope this will be good.

What If It's Us cover5. What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

I also got an ARC for this bombastic collaboration and I’m hyped! I absolutely loved Becky’s Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda (or Love, Simon) and I got my heart broken by Adam’s beautiful They Both Die at the End. I can’t wait to see how these two mix up Becky’s fluff with Adam’s ability to bring you to tears. This book is set to be released in October 9.

What about you? What books do you want to read this month?

  1. I requested it on Edelweiss and the publisher approved me haha I’m excited too, I love both these authors so I couldn’t even believe when this book was announced. I’ll review it right after I get some time to read it, which should happen sometime this month. You can also check my Goodreads if you’re interested because I always post my thoughts there as I’m reading something. 😀
