Hey guys, how you doin’?
Today I’m back with another Top 5 Wednesday. This week’s topic is right up my alley, since we’re talking about Favorite Book Covers and I’m a sucker for pretty books. Since there are so many that I love out there, I’m narrowing things down to only covers of books I physically own.
Let’s take a look at my faves:
Caraval & Legendary by Stephanie Garber
Ahh these books are so pretty ahhh. I actually own both the US and UK editions, but I like the american covers more, as far as front covers go. I love the colors, the patterns, the font, all of it. The UK ones win on the spine aspect, and on the variety of cover options under the dust jackets, but I just really like the US editions.
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo
This is one of the prettiest books I own, period. It’s beautiful all over, the cover, under the dust jacket, there are illustrations on the pages… There’s not even question, this is definitely one of my favorites. Pictures just don’t do it justice.
Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
I loved this cover from the moment I layed my eyes on it. I love the illustration of Leah looking so cool, and the color scheme just make me want to say “yaaaaaassss”.
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
Another cover I fell in love as soon as I saw it. I feel like this one translates the “dark fairy tale” vibe so well that I don’t even know what else to say. I also love that many details of the story can be found on this cover art, like the comb, the feather, or even the entrance gates to the Hazel Wood estate.
They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera
I loooove the colors for this cover. It looks a bit like a painting and the detail of the reaper following the shadows of Mateo and Rufus is so representative of the story. I love when covers do that, have some sort of easter-egg connected to the content of the book.
Bonus entry (excuse me): Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
This particular covers are not physically available in English, but we do have them in hardbacks in Brazil. I love them, I like the colors, the art, and as I mentioned before, I really like a good cover with easter-eggs related to the story. To my joy, this is exactly what these editions have – each one of the books has one to be found. Have you noticed them? Can you point out each one?
