Bookish A-Z Survey Tag

Hey guys, how you doin’?

I’ve been away for a little while because of college and life, but today I’m back with a tag, the Bookish A-Z Survey. I was tagged by the awesome May and she’s a sweetie so you should go check her blog out. Okay, so let’s not waste anytime, here are my answers:

AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM

J.K. Rowling and Richelle Mead. I’ve read exactly 9 books from both of them.

BEST SEQUEL EVER

Shadow Kiss cover

Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead (Vampire Academy #3)

I also thought of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Prisioner of Azkaban, or Goblet of Fire, but I couldn’t decide between them. To be honest I haven’t read many sequels, which is something I’ve been trying to fix.

CURRENTLY READING

The Dead Zone by Stephen King

A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi

DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING

Water, cause I always have a bottle near me. I don’t think I drink anything else while reading.

E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOKS

I prefer physical books, but ebooks are very convenient, so I read both.

GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE

The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter

The Darkest Night cover

I don’t really read adult romance or erotica, but this book has a fantasy element that caught my attention. A bunch of greek immortal warriors opened Pandora’s box and released a bunch of demons in the world (Violence, Death, Disease and so on). As punishment, the gods sealed one of the demons inside each warrior’s body. This book is set in Budapest, and it was what made me fall in love with the city (and inspired me to want to learn Hungarian someday).

HIDDEN GEM BOOK

Magic or Madness by Justine Larbalestier

Magic or Madness cover

Ok, this was tough because I’m so late with the big releases that I haven’t read many books that I both enjoyed and that people probably haven’t heard of, so I went way back and picked this book I read years ago. It’s about a girl named Reason who’s basically a witch. She and her mother have been on the run from her grandmother her entire life, who Reason’s mom claims to be evil. The thing is, when witches use too much of their magic they go insane, and when that ends up happening with her mom, Reason is sent to live with her grandma in Sidney. I want to reread this one, it was very different from any other book I’d read.

IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE

I’ve said it a million times, but there’s no escape – it was the day I bought my first book with my own money, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The first book of my evergrowing collection.

JUST FINISHED

The Lost Sisters by Holly Black

KINDS OF BOOKS I WON’T READ

Generally I won’t touch non-fiction, horror, erotica, or adult romance books, but I also like to challenge myself now and then. For example, I’m reading my first Stephen King book right now.

LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix cover

MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BEACAUSE OF

Reading many books in a short amount of time.

NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN

Two, plus a smaller shelf where I put my TBR of the month.

ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES

I guess Harry Potter 1 & 2. I don’t usually reread books, but I’d like to change that.

PREFERRED PLACED TO READ

My bed.

QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVE YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU HAVE READ

“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at
how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
― J.K. Rowling

READING REGRET

Fallen by Lauren Kate

fallen cover

The cover is beautiful, I had the book signed when I met the author, but when I read it later I hated it. Now I can’t ever get rid of it because she was very nice to me and even wrote me a personalized message.

SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH

Ain’t nobody got time to list them all, but I’ll mention a few that all the books came out, and that I still have the intention to finish.

  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (believe it or not I’ve never read Mockingjay, even though I saw all the movies)
  • Grisha Triology by Leigh Bardugo (only Ruin and Rising left)
  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (book #2, #2.5 and #3 left to read)
  • Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (read 2 books of 6)

THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVOURITE BOOKS

  • Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
  • Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
  • They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera

Yes I picked two series, I didn’t want to choose just one book, sue me.

UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR

Dimitri Belikov

VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS

The Wicked King by Holly Black

The_Wicked_King_cover

WORST BOOKISH HABIT

Either buying way more books than I can read or wasting a lot of potential reading time doing non-productive stuff (social media, booktube, Goodreads).

X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK

The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

the blood of olympus cover

YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE

I haven’t bought a book since the end of August. I know, I’m baffled too. The last ones I bought back then were two How I Met Your Mother tie-in books – The Bro Code, and The Playbook.

ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY TO LATE)

Broken Things by Lauren Oliver

Broken Things lauren oliver cover

I went to class like a zombie after sleeping for only 1 hour because I couldn’t put it down.

I’m going to tag Solomon to do this tag. I believe he hasn’t done this one yet. 😀

So, do you agree with my answers or not? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Wow this is a big tag, though I love a lot of the answers, I’ll have to check out Magic or Madness, it sounds very interesting.
My most anticipated release was The Wicked King but now Legend #4 is happening and now The Wicked King must be in the second most anticipated. But if something happens and Legend #4 can’t come out in 2019 then TWK can reclaim his throne.
My favorite hidden gem is The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee, it’s about an A+ student who’s town gets invaded by demons from Chinese mythology and she has to fight them with the Monkey King Sun Wukong
Also I hav haven’t finished DoSaB get either even though I loved book one, I just started book two today

Yeah, I’ll probably read the entire triology next year so I can finally read Strange the Dreamer too. I hope you enjoy book 2. 😀

    1. Thanks May! ❤ Yaaassss read Vampire Academy pleease I'd love to know your thoughts on it (even if you don't like it for some reason haha I just want to discuss it).
I'll finish Ruin and Rising this year, I'm too curious about six of crows to take any longer to read it. The DoSaB triology is a project for next year for sure. I already own all the books except for book 3.

Yay *high five*, I tried to get an arc of TWK but it simply didn't happen, but it's okay since january is so close anyway.
Thank you for tagging me <333
