Top 5 Wednesday | Book Wish List

Hey guys, how you doin’?

I’m back with Top 5 Wednesday and this week’s topic is books or bookish items I have on my wish list. I mean, it’s a good thing it’s only a top 5 or else we’d be forever haha. I’m only going to talk about hardcover books, since those are what I like and also bookish itens aren’t that easy to find around here.

These are the editions that are my priority, since they’re harder to find and quite pricey for me as I’d have to import most of them (and let me tell you international shipping ain’t cheap).

Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1) by Jay Kristoff – UK edition

My boyfriend went to London earlier this year and I couldn’t miss the opportunity, so asked him for this specific UK edition. I also asked for the sequel, Godsgrave, but only if he could find the first one and bring them together because I’m one of those people who needs books to match. He couldn’t find book 1, but he brought book 2 anyways. Now I MUST find book 1 so they can match. I need this book, but finding this first edition at a reasonable price has been the pain of my existence.

Dreams of Gods and Monsters (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #3) by Laini Taylor – UK edition

I decided to buy the UK first editions for this series (except for Night of Cakes and Puppets, I like the US edition more), which is great because they’re out of print, so you can imagine how easy and not expensive at all these books are queue the sarcasm. I only have book 3 left to complete the triology now, thank goodness, but I have no idea when I’ll be able to get it. Currently, 1£ is almost 5 bucks here, (which would be relatively fine if it wasn’t for that damn shipping).

Circe by Madeline Miller – UK edition

This is not as hard to get, bless this book, as it’s a recent release and therefore not out of print (but still expensive). When it comes to books in english they mostly sell US editions in my country, which is good for me, since I tend to prefer those over brittish ones. However, when I end up liking the UK edition more, I have to look it up on Amazon UK or Abebooks (nope, unfortunately Book Depository doesn’t deliver in my country anymore so that’s not an option).

The Cruel Prince (B&N Exclusive) (Folk of the Air Series #1) by Holly Black

I want this edition so bad ugh. Barnes & Noble only has it available to buy online and pick it up at the store. Obviously I don’t live in the US and I also don’t know anyone there who could pick it up at a store and send it to me, so I suppose the dream is over and I’ll forever regret not buying this when it came out. I guess I should keep an eye out for The Wicked King edition, it is my most anticipated book of next year after all (although I think I like the regular white cover better for this one, to be honest).

Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco

Hunting Prince Dracula

So far, this is technically the easiest book to get. I could order it online and have it delivered to my house in a few days, but I just don’t have the money to buy it. With my country in a finacial crisis and the dollar so expensive, imported books aren’t very accessible right now (or books in general to tell you the truth). That’s probably the reason I haven’t bought a single book since the end of August, and who knows when I’ll be able to do it again. My birthday is on the 16th, so it’d be great if I could get this, but I rarely receive gifts at all so I’m not holding my breath. My bf is the only one who gives me at least one book on this ocasion, but he only buys on physical stores and he’s not going to find any english harcovers there, that’s for sure.

So guys, what’s on your priority wish list? Do you intend to get any of those books soon? Let me know in the comments. 😊

  1. I want most of these books tbh, especially those copies of Circe, Nevernight, and Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I would also love the Six of Crows special edition and the UK Mistborn trilogy
