Review Policy

*I’m currently not accepting review requests*

All my reviews are spoiler-free, unless I specify otherwise in the title.

My reading preferences are Young Adult books in general, but I favor YA Fantasy the most. After fantasy, I like YA Contemporary, especially if it includes some kind of diversity. I don’t usually pick up Scifi (although I love superhero stuff) nor Thrillers, but I’m open to them if the premise really interests me. I don’t do Horror or Adult Romance books.

I accept both physical arcs and e-arcs. For review requests and other inquiries send me an email at thischamberofbooks@gmail.com

I’m on both Netgalley and Edelweiss+, but I use the latter more.

I’m an avid Goodreads user, so I adopt the same 5-star rating system. I usually try to ballance my overall enjoyment with the more critical stuff (writing quality, characters, plot, worldbuilding, pacing, etc).

My rating system goes like this:

5 stars – This was AMAZING / Ohmygod I’m so overwhelmed with feelings that I cannot even/ This is a new favorite

4 stars – I really liked this / I enjoyed it a lot, but there were minor issues that kept me from giving it 5 stars / My enjoyment was above average

3 stars – This book was okay / I liked it well enough / I neither hated nor loved it / There was an equal amount of things that I liked and disliked about it.

2 stars – This book was meh / It had potential, but it was poorly executed / I did not care for it

1 star – I HATED this book with a fiery passion / It was poorly written or really problematic / This was literally mental torture and made me want to bang my head against the wall.

*I do use half stars and whatever I need in order to give the most accurate rating possible.

*Regardless of liking a book or not, I usually comment on things that might be useful to other readers like pacing, multiple povs, format, tropes the reader should be aware of, etc.
